PELICAN WALKING TOUR

About me

Hi! My name is Alejandra Oyarzun and I’m a porteña, which is the female adjective for people who was born in Valparaíso.

I’m an English-Spanish translator, I work as an English teacher for a community college, and I’ve worked as a tour guide for almost 20 years, guiding mainly in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and the white wine region called Casablanca Valley.

I love cats, chocolate, ice-cream, I love the sea, but what I love the most is travelling!

When I was younger, I used to travel a lot discovering my country; I visited the charming San Pedro de Atacama town and its surroundings, and I trekked in Torres del Paine National Park, which with its mountains, lakes and glaciers is by far the most majestic place I’ve ever seen in Chile. I’d say that only Easter Island (Rapa Nui island) is still on my bucket list.

I also travelled a lot discovering India, as I worked there for one year and that was the most incredible and unforgettable experience I’ve ever had as a traveller.

I’m a mom of  a young teenager that I love with all my heart, and I hope someday I can travel a lot with him, too.

So, this is a little bit about me and also my invitation to walk and talk; because a walking tour is also a time to share experiences and thoughts and then we realize that despite sometimes we live in different countries and cultures, we aren’t that different!
